  • The Mexico Academy and Central School District is located in the geographic center of New York State on the southeastern shore of Lake Ontario. The district is located
in a beautiful rural setting of farms and orchards, but is only 38 miles north of the metropolitan area of Syracuse; with its shopping malls, fine dining establishments, theater, symphony, opera and much more. Syracuse University offers many cultural opportunities as well as Division I college basketball, football and lacrosse teams. Minor league teams in baseball and hockey are also an integral part of the athletic events offered in the Syracuse area.

The State University College of New York at Oswego is located in the nearby city of Oswego. Known as the Port City and located on the mouth of the Oswego River, it also hosts many cultural, recreational and entertainment opportunities, including world-class salmon and trout fishing.

Le Moyne College and Cayuga Community College are also within a short commute of the village of Mexico.

Major industries in the area include Constellation Energy, Attis Biofuels, Novelis, Constellation Energy, Huhtamaki and Fulton Boiler Works.

Several hospitals and urgent care locations are close and easy to access. The Syracuse airport, just a short drive away, includes major airlines such as Allegiant, American Airlines, Breeze, Delta, Frontier Airlines, jetBlue, Southwest and United.

Mexico, New Haven and Palermo, along with the surrounding hamlets and towns, have continually offered strong support for the schools.
