• Music is a means to develop a well-balanced individual through positive group experience.
   
• Every student should have the opportunity to develop their own innate creativity and learn to respect the creative expressions of others.
   
• Every student should acquire the skills of music reading, critical listening, and performing through those techniques required of instrumentalists and vocalists
   
• Every student should be sensitive to the value of music in our daily lives and contribute to the musical life of their school and community.
   
• Every student should be able to relate music to other content areas, fields of study, and occupations.
   
• The path to achieving our mission and vision is through providing students rigorous and sequential standards-based instruction.
