‘Annie’ set for three performances at Mexico HS

Spring musical season is officially in bloom, and the Mexico High School Drama Department is ready to bring Annie to the stage with three evening performances filled with heart, humor and classic songs.
The show will run Thursday, Friday and Saturday, March 5–7, beginning at 7 p.m. in the high school’s Avery Skinner Auditorium.
Tickets are $10 at the door or $7 in advance. For presale tickets, please contact Cassie at cmonnat@mexicocsd.org.
Set in the 1930s, Annie follows the story of a spunky orphan, Annie (Isabella Ladd), who escapes her difficult life under the watch of the cruel Miss Hannigan (Anna Fox) and finds herself living with billionaire Oliver Warbucks (Jacob Upcraft). As Warbucks begins a search for Annie’s parents, Miss Hannigan and her brother attempt to claim a reward for themselves. In the end, Annie finds the family she has always hoped for.
Students have had a wonderful time bringing this classic production to life, said HS Musical Director Laura Washburn, who also directs chorus at the school.
