Cardboard Creations Spark Creativity at Mexico Elementary

Mexico Elementary, in collaboration with CiTi Arts-in-Education, hosted a special evening that invited students to tap into their imaginations and create alongside their family members.
Using a mountain of cardboard boxes in all shapes and sizes along with other art supplies like scissors and construction paper, students brought their ideas to life — transforming simple materials into imaginative designs through creativity, collaboration and plenty of fun.
Among the final creations were a character from “The Wild Robot,” a house, trains, an automobile, animals and much more as dozens of families packed the Mexico Elementary gym.
Several of the final products were on display for the Board of Education when they visited for their monthly meeting in early February.
