MACS students earn spots in Oswego All-County Band

Mexico students showcased their musical talent last weekend during the Oswego County Music Educators’ Association All-County Band Festival, held at Phoenix’s high school. The event brought together student musicians from across the county for a weekend of collaboration, learning and performance on Jan. 16-17.
The All-County junior high band performed under the direction of Jason Giachetti of the Huntington School District, while the senior high band was led by Lynn Cromeyn from the Northport School District.
Representing Mexico in the junior high band were Cecilia Barry, Ella Bertollini, John DeStevens, Anna Hill, Oscar Madden and Michael Seeloff. These students demonstrated strong musicianship and dedication throughout the festival.
Senior high MACS participants included Makayla Bee, Aiden Kunz, Dylan Hoey, Sophie Madden, Jenna Ricker, Marshall Rowley, Stanley Schoonmaker and Jacob Upcraft. Their participation reflects the continued commitment of Mexico’s music students to excellence in the arts.
Both guest conductors worked closely with students to refine their skills and prepare for a culminating performance.
