MHS Students Support Veterans Through VA Donation Drive

Mexico High School students recently participated in NYS Assemblyman William Barclay’s Veterans Drive in support of the VA Hospital in Syracuse, donating a wide variety of items to benefit local veterans during the holiday season.
The drive is coordinated at Mexico High School by history teacher Renee Caroccio, who has helped lead the school’s involvement for 11 years. Students also created holiday cards filled with messages of appreciation and encouragement to accompany the donations.
The initiative provides students with an opportunity to actively support veterans while learning the importance of service, gratitude, and community involvement.
Collected items and student-created cards were delivered to the VA Hospital in Syracuse, helping provide comfort and encouragement to veterans receiving care during the holiday season.
