MHS senior Hill sworn in as ’25-26 student BOE member

Mexico Academy & Central School District is pleased to welcome high school senior Jessica Hill as the student representative on the Board of Education for the 2025–26 school year.
In this role, Jessica will serve as the voice of MACS students, offering valuable insight and perspective as the Board discusses and makes decisions that shape the district’s future.
Board of Education Vice President Darlene Upcraft expressed excitement about Jessica’s appointment.
“It is with great pleasure that we welcome our newest student member to the Board of Education,” she said. “Your unique perspective and passion for learning will enrich our discussions and help guide our decisions. We look forward to your contributions and the fresh ideas you will bring as we work together to serve our students and community.”
The student representative position provides an important opportunity for student leadership and collaboration. While the student member does not vote on official Board actions, they participate in discussions, share student feedback and help ensure the Board’s work reflects the experiences and priorities of the district’s student body.
Jessica was officially sworn in during the July BOE meeting and will continue to work on the board throughout her term until the end of June.
