MACS honors 17 retirees for years of service to district

The Mexico Academy & Central School District is proud to honor the educators and staff members who are set to retire at the conclusion of the 2024–25 school year.
Each retiree was recognized during the June Board of Education Business Meeting on June 26, where those in attendance were congratulated by the board and presented with a certificate of appreciation for their service to the district.
“This year’s retirees represent decades of care, talent and dedication that have shaped the hearts of our schools,” said MACS Superintendent Dr. Donna Runner. “Their impact will continue to be felt by generations of students and staff, and they will be deeply missed. We are sincerely grateful for their service and wish them many happy years of retirement.”
The 2024–25 retirees include:
JoAnn Bourgeois (school business manager), Elizabeth Cleveland (teaching assistant), Carla Dembroski (teaching assistant), Kevin Gates (teacher), Mona Goble (teacher), Monique Hager (teaching assistant), Donna Herrmann (teacher), Julia Killian (bus driver), Paul McPherson (school counselor), Denise Rhinehart (teaching assistant), Carl Santschi (maintenance mechanic 1), Julie Sova (teacher aide), Brenda Thomas (school lunch manager), Deanna Ware (teaching assistant), Geneen Washer (teacher), Darlene Williamson (cook) and Alison Zell (teaching assistant).
