Mexico Academy and Central School District welcomes several new staff members at the start of the 2016-17 school year.
Upwards of 80 students are attending the Mexico Academy and Central School District Elementary and Middle School Summer Skills Academy. The academy is offered to first through eighth grade students and is being held at Mexico Middle School, during the morning, from mid-July through the first week in August. The program is led by MACS Assistant Principal Patrick Vrooman and MACS Principal Richard Chapman, with a number teachers and assistants in the classrooms. Explaining the purpose of the academy, Patrick Vrooman says, "This program is designed to improve math and ELA skills while also promoting interest in the fields of science."
