Senior Cutuli set to play Division I soccer at Le Moyne

Mexico High School senior Giana Cutuli has committed to play Division I soccer at Le Moyne College, where she also intends to pursue a major in biology.

Cutuli, a standout player, has been long admired for her team-oriented mentality by her coaches and teachers. In addition to playing at the varsity, JV and modified levels, she was also involved with the local Mexico Youth Soccer organization.

“Thank you to everyone who has been by my side and supported me through everything,” she said. “I could not have gotten here today without everyone’s support, and it means the world to me.”

Mexico Academy & Central School District Athletic Director Andrew Gates spoke before the ceremonial letter of intent signing.

“Giana is the ultimate team player, she is always willing to do whatever is best for her team to put them in a winning position,” Gates, who praised Cutuli’s dedication, said. “This quality, along with her excellent work ethic, will translate well to the next level.”

The signing took place just before winter break at the Hungerford Library, where Cutuli was surrounded by family, friends, coaches and mentors.

Her parents, Shawna and Brandon Cutuli, were also present to witness this milestone in her academic and athletic journey.
