Letter from Dr. Runner: Jan. 2025 Capital Improvement Project updates

Jan. 3, 2025

Dear MACS Family and Community,

Happy New Year! I hope this letter finds you well and that you had a wonderful holiday season. As we welcome 2025, I am excited to provide you with a brief update on the capital project that was approved by our voters.

Capital Improvement Project (CIP) Update: The Capital Improvement Project (CIP) is currently under review by the New York State Education Department (NYSED). Once this review is complete and the project is approved, we will proceed with the bidding process for the various components of the project. Our construction manager and architect are diligently preparing the bid information that will be sent out to prospective contractors. We are gearing up for the next phase of this project, and I am pleased to report that our initial proposed timeline is close to being on schedule. We remain optimistic that we will stay on track once we receive the state’s approval.

Separate Project - Middle School Electronic Sign: In addition to the CIP, we are excited to announce that we are moving forward with the installation of an electronic sign at the Middle School as part of a capital outlay project. The technical review from the state has been completed, and we are now awaiting final approval from NYSED. Once approved, we will proceed with the installation plans.

We appreciate your continued support and patience as we work through these important projects. Your involvement and commitment to our school district is invaluable, and we look forward to sharing more updates with you as we progress.

Thank you for your attention to these matters. Wishing you all a prosperous and joyful 2025!

Sincerely,

Dr. Runner
Superintendent
