MACS unveils special logo as 200th anniversary school year approaches
Planning is underway for Mexico Academy & Central School District’s 200th bicentennial celebration.
Exciting events will take place throughout the 2025-26 school year to mark this milestone, offering a variety of fun, educational, and community-focused activities, district officials announced. The MACS 200th Anniversary Committee has already begun organizing efforts, and one of the first priorities was to create a special logo to symbolize the year-long celebration.
This logo will be used by the school district, community members and event organizers to provide consistency and help make the celebration instantly recognizable.
“We are excited to share this next step in our bicentennial planning,” said Dr. Donna Runner, Superintendent of MACS. “We encourage the community to start becoming familiar with the logo. When you see it, you'll know it's a part of our district’s year-long celebration of 200 years of education and growth.”
After careful planning and consultation from the 200th committee and district administrators, the logo was designed as an homage to all those who walked the hallowed halls of MACS in the centuries prior.
The Centennial logo for 2025 reflects key elements of our community's identity:
- Orange and Black are the district’s school colors, representing strength, energy, enthusiasm and pride.
- The Bicentennial Year symbolizes 200 years of excellence in education and community building.
- The Clocktower symbolizes the district’s timelessness and tradition, while also representing progress and growth as a beacon that MACS students have looked upon for decades, with it ringing out every fall to celebrate the undertaking of a new academic year.
In addition to the special logo, community members can expect to see special banners along Tiger Drive and in the town, a community celebration, a special ceremonial ringing of the bell, a time capsule and an end-of-the-year gala to culminate the year of MACS. More events and details will be outlined before next school year.
The bicentennial logo will be made available via the district website to event organizers, school staff and community members for use on promotional materials and to use with pride.
