May 19, 2021

Good morning MACS family and community,

With a heavy heart and nothing but the best wishes for him, I must announce that Mexico High School Principal Ryan Lanigan will be leaving us effective July 1 for an opportunity at his alma mater in Oswego.

Over the past five years as principal and director of physical education and health, Mr. Lanigan has been a strong advocate for the students, programming, curriculum, and a shining example of leadership. He will be greatly missed.

Our Board of Education will immediately launch a wide-ranging search committee to fill the vacancy with another strong candidate who will continue to lead Mexico High School down a positive path that has seen climbing graduation rates and expanded college credit opportunities over the years.

More information on the search and other updates will be sent out as they are available.

Once again, I want to thank Mr. Lanigan for all he’s done to better our wonderful community and scholars.

Sincerely,

Dr. Donna Runner
Superintendent of Schools

Dear MHS Families,

After five proud years of service to the staff and students at Mexico High School, it is with a heavy heart that I announce I will be leaving for a new opportunity in the Oswego City School District.  I have accepted the position of Oswego High School Principal, and while I will truly miss the students, parents, and staff at Mexico High School, I’m looking forward to continuing my professional growth in support of students and educators.

While I am sad to leave the students, staff, parents and community of Mexico, I know that I will leave the District and the High School with great pride for what has been accomplished.  The students and staff are the heart of the Mexico High School and will continue to thrive. I know everyone will continue to be very successful.

I’m indebted to so many incredible people in this community who have made my experience in Mexico a lifelong memory.  I will cherish those memories and reflect fondly upon them as I move forward in both my professional and personal life.

I deeply appreciate all of the support the parents and community have provided to our school during my tenure at MHS. It truly has been a collaborative effort to deliver the best education possible to your children!

Sincerely,

Ryan C. Lanigan
Principal, Mexico High School
