Letter from Dr. Runner: Full remote days planned

Feb. 4, 2021
Dear MACS Family and Community,
I am writing to you regarding an update to our schedule. On Wednesday, Feb. 10, more than 120 of our staff members will receive their second dose of the COVID-19 vaccination.
To account for possible side-effects for teachers and support staff who may be unable to attend classes in person, and due to the high number of members in quarantine, we plan to utilize our fully remote model district-wide on Thursday, Feb. 11 and Friday, Feb. 12. I appreciate your understanding and patience as we felt this was the best way to ensure the least amount of interruption to our studies and provides a concrete plan for families to make any necessary arrangements ahead of time.
The district’s hybrid model will resume as planned on Monday, Feb. 22, after winter recess.
We will strive to avoid situations like this in the future by scheduling any clinics at different times. All off-site instruction will remain in place including BOCES. Sports activities will continue as planned.
We remain committed to doing all we can to provide for the safety and well-being of our students, staff and families throughout our school district.

Please do not hesitate to contact my office or your child’s principal with any questions you may have.
Information regarding COVID-19 vaccinations can be found on the state website at covid19vaccine.health.ny.gov. The Oswego County COVID Hotline can be reached at 315-349-3330.
Thank you,
Donna Runner, Ed.D.
