Letter from Dr. Runner: Dec. 22, 2020

Dec. 22, 2020

Dear MACS School Family and Community,

This has been a most difficult year and I want to express my appreciation for all you have done to support our scholars and one another. You deserve this much needed break and I hope you have a peaceful time with those you love.

Today, I received an update from the Oswego County Health Department noting that there has been a recent and alarming uptick in the number of positive COVID cases, “From slightly over 100 cases a week after Halloween, to more than 250 a week in the middle of November, to around 400 cases every week in December…”

Out of an abundance of caution, and not compromising the safety of the members of our school community, we will remain in remote instruction for all students until a planned return date of Jan. 19, 2021.

Please reach out to your child’s teacher or building principal with any questions regarding instruction. We will monitor the COVID-19 data and make any adjustments as needed, based on recommendations from the department of health.

Again, I want to reiterate that I want you and our scholars to be safe and we will do all that we can to ensure that safety. Follow all health official recommendations and call the Oswego County Health Department COVID-19 hotline at (315) 349-3330 if you have any questions regarding COVID-19.

I hope that you have a safe and peaceful holiday season. Take care!

Dr. Donna Runner
Superintendent
