For the 25th consecutive year, students at Mexico Elementary School collected food for those in need during the holiday season.
Each December, students collect food donations for a local food pantry. This year, students combined to collect hundreds of bags of food.
After collecting and storing the bags at the school, fourth graders hand recently hand delivered the donations to the food pantry, something Principal Bob Briggs sees as a critical part of the process.
“This is a great school-wide event,” said Briggs. “And it’s a great experience for the fourth graders to hand-deliver the donations and see first-hand how important this food drive really is.”
