The modern technology of videoconferencing made its way to the MACS Board of Education meeting at Palermo Elementary School on Thursday, March 9, 2017.
Through videoconferencing, MACS Board of Education Vice President Darlene Upcraft was able to be present at the meeting from a Starbucks in Key West, Florida where she was vacationing.
The fact that the videoconferencing was going to take place was well publicized on the announcement signboards outside each school building in the Mexico District.
During the meeting, Darlene Upcraft was present through transmitted audio and visual signals which allowed those at the meeting to see her on an iPad, and hear her comments, and vice versa.
