Promoting Student Success
Mexico Central School District offers a PreK-12 educational program designed to promote the academic success and personal development of all students. We’re dedicated to preparing students to meet the rigorous demands of state and local academic standards and the needs of future employers. And equally as important, we’re focused on addressing the needs of the “whole child” so our students go on to become caring, contributing members of society.

Project Lead the Way
Project Lead The Way (PLTW) is a program that provides a transformative learning experience for our students in grades 7-12 through an engaging environment that empowers students to develop in-demand knowledge and skills necessary to thrive in an evolving world. Through these challenging courses, our students believe in their abilities, test their limits, and question what’s possible.
Early College High School
Mexico Central Schools offers an outstanding opportunity for all of our high school students to earn college credits from Onondaga Community College (OCC), with the potential of earning an Associate’s Degree in Humanities and Social Sciences, all within their four years of high school! This partnership shows students a pathway…whether they complete 12 or up to 62 credits, students will be able to see how those credits fit into an Associate’s Degree. Some of the incredible benefits of this partnership are:
- Students will earn both high school AND college credits for the same course, at the same time.
- Absolutely no cost - our students earn FREE college credits and possibly a FREE 2-year degree!
- Courses are taught by Mexico High School teachers in Mexico High School.
Response to Intervention Services
Response to Intervention (RtI) is designed to identify students who may be at-risk for poor academic performance and intervene by providing supplemental interventions targeted to their learning needs. The overall purpose of RtI at Mexico Academy and Central School District is to help students achieve the learning standards in English language arts and mathematics in grades K-8 and social studies and science in grades 4-8.
RtI integrates assessment and intervention within a multi-level prevention system to maximize student achievement. With RtI, MACS uses data to 1) identify students at risk for poor learning outcomes, 2) monitor student progress, 3) provide evidence-based interventions and adjust the intensity and nature of those intervention depending on a student’s responsiveness, and 4) identify students with learning disabilities.
Mexico Central School District offers special education programs in the least restrictive environment.
Our students take a number of exams each year, including New York State tests, Regents exams, Advanced Placement tests, ACTs, SATs and PSATs.
