Welcome to a new school year! I am very excited to be joining the Mexico El family. My father was in the Air Force so I grew up moving all over the United States and I even lived in Germany for a little while. I graduated from a high school in San Antonio, Texas and started my college career there in 1998. I moved to Cortland, New York in August of 2001 where I finished my undergraduate and graduate work at SUNY Cortland. I have taught in many different districts over the years, including Jamesville-DeWitt, Baldwinsville, East Syracuse Minoa, Science Academies of New York charter schools and Cortland.
My husband and I live in Clay, New York with our two boys, 12 and 7 years old. This summer my boys and I finally convinced my husband we needed a dog. At the end of June, we adopted Slinky, a big hound mix, from Helping Hounds. In the summer we spend a lot of time hanging out at our pool and in Old Forge.
I look forward to working with the parents and students at Mexico Elementary.
Sincerely,
Erica Becker
