Andrea Searles

  • Hello, my name is Andrea Searles. I grew-up in New Haven where I attended, and graduated from the Mexico School District. I attended Oswego State University for my Bachelors and Masters degree and earned my certification in Childhood Education. Prior to returning to the Mexico District and joining the New Haven Elementary team, I taught fifth grade for eight years in Winston Salem, North Carolina. I have been with the Mexico School District since 2014 and began teaching at New Haven Elementary School in 2017. I feel honored to have the opportunity to teach the students at New Haven Elementary as an Academic Intervention Specialist specializing in the area of reading.

In my free time I enjoy many outdoor activities such as biking, swimming, hiking, playing volleyball, and spending time gardening. I enjoy sewing and have made a quilt for each member of my family. I also enjoy spending time with my family and friends.

My goal as a teacher is to provide an opportunity for all students to learn in an environment that is welcoming and fun as well as to instill a joy of learning.
