Welcome to New Haven Elementary School! My name is Deborah Patterson, and I have been a classroom teacher here at New Haven since 2005. Prior to coming to the Mexico district, I worked for two years at the Central New York Charter School for Math and Science, in Syracuse, New York.
I have taught grades Kindergarten, first and second, and am currently a first grade teacher. I earned my Bachelors in Elementary Education, magna cum laude, from the State University of New York at Oswego in 2003. I earned my Master in Literacy Education, Birth - Grade 6, from the State University of Oswego in 2005.
When I'm not teaching your child, I'm probably reading, running, traveling, or spending time with my husband, Chuck (a fifth grade teacher at Mexico Middle School), or with our two grown children, Zack and Eliza. I am also a grandmother to three - Rebekah, Remy, and Rowan. Please know that I will work diligently to provide for your children the same experience I want for my own grandchildren. Room 103 is a place where we work hard, love learning, treat each other with kindness, and learn from our mistakes. :)
I look forward to a great year teaching your child. Let's work together to make sure this is a remarkable year of fun, growth, and learning!
