I have been teaching art since 1991. I began my career at the elementary level and currently teach 7th, 8th & Studio Art here at Mexico Middle School. I received my Bachelor's degree in Art Education from Frostburg State University & my Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Western Maryland College.
Over the years I have received Teacher of the Year for my dedication and service & Outstanding Visual Arts Educator of the Year. As an art educator, I have always believed that the arts need to be an integral part of every students social and academic development. The arts offer a natural blend of intellectual and creative problem solving skills that parallel real life challenges and experiences.
As a middle school art teacher, I see my role as one that provides rich and exciting studio experiences that allow and encourage my students to continually explore creative problem solving scenarios and artistic discovery of new media, techniques, styles and subject matter.
