The School Based Health Center (SBHC) opened the doors to the students of the Middle School in October of 2013. The SBHC is a full serviced Health Center operated by Northern Oswego County Health Services (NOCHSI). Our SBHC staff includes Adrienne Brimmer, Nurse Practitioner, Jessica Connors, LMHC Behavioral Health, Diane McDermott, Medical Assistant, and our collaborating physician, Dr. Megan Pecha. We also have SBHC’s located in Sandy Creek, Pulaski and APW school districts.
The SBHC provides prompt, convenient, quality, health care to enrolled students attending the Middle School. Our list of services provided include treatment of illnesses, minor injuries, monitor and treat chronic illnesses, allergy injections, immunizations, annual physical exams and etc. This would include state mandated 6th and 7th grade immunizations and 7th grade physicals. Prescriptions for acute or chronic illnesses can be sent electronically to your pharmacy. We also offer behavioral health services to students and their families. All students enrolled in the Mexico Middle School building are eligible to enroll in the SBHC. There are no out-of-pocket charges for services provided at the SBHC. Insurances will be billed. If you do not have medical coverage, NOCHSI has Outreach Coordinators that can assist you in obtaining insurance coverage. You DO NOT have to change primary care doctors or transfer records.
To enroll your Middle School student simply complete an enrollment form for each child attending the Middle School and return it to the SBHC located across the hall from the cafeteria. You can print the forms from the school web site, (Middle School-School Based Health Clinic). Forms are also located in the Middle School office, nurse’s office and at the SBHC. The School Based Health Center is open when school is in session from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. Please call us at 963-8400 X 4208 or stop by!
